Arsenal have opened talks with Chelsea regarding a proposed £10million swoop for Petr Cech.
Paris Saint-Germain have also made contact with the Barclays Premier League champions over a summer move for the goalkeeper.
Gunners chiefs have made discreet enquiries regarding Cech, trying to ascertain whether he would consider a switch to the Emirates Stadium.
And they have discovered the goalkeeper is open to a move across London.
Cech and his family are settled in the capital and the 32-year-old would prefer not to uproot this summer.
Arsenal have now opened dialogue with their arch London rivals over a summer move.
It is a significant development in what looks set to be one of the summer’s most prominent transfer sagas.

The Gunners, though, are not the only club to have solidified their interest in the Czech shot-stopper after PSG also made an enquiry.
The French club are long-term admirers of Cech and looked into signing the keeper in January.
PSG would have the financial firepower to blow Arsenal out of the water this summer, but it is understood Cech prefers a move to the Gunners.

Jose Mourinho would prefer not to sell Cech to Arsenal this season, but would not stand in his way if he made it clear he wanted to join up with Arsene Wenger’s side.
Cech’s agent Viktor Kolar said: ‘Arsenal, Manchester United or PSG are all top clubs and Petr would like to join one of them, definitely.
‘Petr expects that Roman Abramovich, not Jose Mourinho, will decide about his future, based on their mutual agreement from last year.’

Cech to hold talks with Chelsea about his future



Goalkeeper Petr Cech says he will hold talks with Chelsea next week before deciding if his future lies away from Stamford Bridge.

The 33-year-old has a year left on his contract with the Premier League champions but has dropped down the pecking order behind first-choice goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.

Blues boss Jose Mourinho has stressed on several occasions that he is eager for the Czech stopper to stay and Cech is keen to resolve the issue sooner rather than later.

A number of clubs, including Arsenal and Manchester United, have been linked with the 33-year-old who has won four Premier League titles and the Champions League during his time at Chelsea.

Speaking ahead of the Czech Republic's European Championship qualifier against Iceland on Friday, he said: "First I have to agree with the club what the conditions would be for leaving,"

"Next week we will have a meeting with Chelsea.

"At the moment it is with my agent. When it is clearer and all the cards are on the table, we will decide.

"I believe that for what I have done for the club and what the club has done for me, we can arrange it so we are all happy."

He added: "I keep all options open, regardless of the country. I will decide based on what is best for me and my family. It does not matter whether it is England, Germany, France or Spain.

"If I move, it brings difficulties. It must change everything, look for housing, a school for children and so on.

"Therefore, the sooner I know what to do the better. I can plan everything and even rest before the new season."

Petr Cech keen to stay in London or England when he leaves Chelsea

Petr Cech is close to a decision on his next club and keen to remain in England and ideally London, according to Sky sources.

The 33-year-old Czech Republic international goalkeeper is currently with his national side ahead of their European Qualifier against Iceland on Friday.

Sources in his homeland understand Cech, who has one year remaining on his contract, will meet with Chelsea on Monday along with his representatives and learn the minimum fee required for his transfer.

Cech is hoping the Blues do not block a move to a Premier League top-four rival if the fee is right as he is keen to remain in the division in which he has spent the past 11 years.

Cech spent last season as second choice to Thibaut Courtois, the first time he has not been No 1 at Stamford Bridge since he joined Chelsea in 2004 - and he has made no secret of his desire to leave the club as a result.

Chelsea are keen to retain his services but manager Jose Mourinho has also said publicly they will show respect for a player who has been a long-term, consistent performer at the highest level and captained the team on many occasions.

Cech, who has made over 500 appearances for Chelsea, began his career at Chmel Bisany and then Sparta Prague in his home country before a two-year spell with Rennes.
