Martin Broughton still believes the deal will go through

Liverpool have issued a statement outlining their intention to remove a Texas court's restraining order to block the sale of the club to New England Sports Ventures. The action from Tom Hicks and George Gillett was described as "unwarranted and damaging".

Liverpool co-owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett say they have obtained a temporary restraining order to stop the £300million sale of the club and are seeking $1.6billion damages after describing the deal as an 'epic swindle'.

Liverpool back in court

The battle over the future of Liverpool FC will return to the High Court on Thursday after Tom Hicks and George Gillett used the US courts to prevent a sale of the club. Judge Mr Justice Floyd will hear the case again in a bid to clear up the situation at 1400 BST.

Peter Lim withdraws Liverpool bid


Singaporean businessman Peter Lim has withdrawn his bid for Liverpool. The bid was reported to have been around £320 million, with £40 million available for the purchase of new players, but Lim has now decided to remove himself from the bidding process.

In a statement, Lim claimed that Martin Broughton and the Liverpool board refused to consider his offer, despite it being better for the club than the one on the table from New England Sports Ventures.

Another victory for LFC/RBS in court


Mr Justice Floyd today ruled that “This case has nothing to do with Texas.” and gave Tom Hicks and George Gillett until 4PM (UK time) tomorrow to comply with the court order and drop the injunction.

This means that once that is dropped the sale of LFC can go through with NESV becoming the new owners.

After everything we have been through I don’t advise we celebrate yet.

Tom Hicks might try something else.
