Brazil star Paulinho set to make Tottenham transfer


Corinthians have confirmed that negotiations are gathering pace with Tottenham regarding the transfer of Paulinho.


TheBrazil international, who is currently impressing in the ConfederationsCup, has long been linked with a move to Europe with Tottenham amongthe clubs interested.


Spurs were yet to have firmed up their interest as recently as lastweek, but reports now suggest that a £17million bid for the midfielderhas been accepted.


Corinthians director of football Edu - a former Arsenal player - hasconfirmed that there have been further developments and a move to Londonnow looks likely.


When asked about the interest from the White Hart Lane club, Edu told UOL: "The situation is well underway.


"We have to agree on some details of the negotiation, so I can't say he will leave yet, but the negotiations are good."


The 24-year-old made his Brazil debut in 2011 and was recently on target for his country against England at the Maracana.

其實係架, 如果有higuain呢種級數嘅前鋒, 真係完全upgrade到隊波, 而且頂級前鋒正正係熱刺最需要嘅, 只可惜來季冇歐聯.... 唔係的話都可以爭下....

Brazilian midfielder Paulinho claims Tottenham have made an 'official offer' to Corinthians for his services.

The 24-year-old told reporters at the Confederations Cup that Spurs have tabled a bid, reported to be in the region of £17m.

"There is an official offer from Tottenham to Corinthians," said Paulinho after Brazil's 4-2 win over Italy, which he missed with an ankle injury.

"But, as I did when there was an Inter Milan offer, I'll sit and decide with my family before I make any decision. I will only do it after the Confederations Cup because it's hard to deal with all these things."

Corinthians director of football Edu - a former Arsenal player - has confirmed that there have been further developments and a move to London now looks likely.
