Timofey Mozgov, Nuggets Negotiating Multi-Year Contract

Free agent center Timofey Mozgov is in negotiations with the Denver Nuggets on a multi-year contract to re-sign with the franchise, a league source told RealGM.

Ever since making changes within the organization, the Nuggets have become more interested in re-signing Mozgov, trading away Kosta Koufos on draft night. Mozgov has already received a qualifying offer from the Nuggets, but the parameters of a new deal have been discussed as a possible three-year contract with an option on the third season, a source told RealGM.

Mozgov had once been thought of as one of the most skilled center prospects in the NBA while with the New York Knicks, but he received little playing time under George Karl. Even so, Mozgov told RealGM in April, 「I feel confident I can play. I know I can play and I know Coach knows I can play, so I feel confident. I just need some [playing] time.」

Now, the Nuggets are far more committed to give Mozgov a fair trial in the rotation, and they remain enamored with his footwork and agile post moves around the basket. Should Mozgov re-sign, Denver would have a young, developing center duo in the Russian big man and JaVale McGee.

Mozgov, 26, averaged just 2.6 points last season, but he has shown production with minutes, including a 10-point, 10-rebound game in the regular-season finale. Mozgov was part of the Carmelo Anthony trade between the Nuggets and Knicks in 2011.

Evans could accept the offer from the Pelicans as early as Wednesday if the Sacramento Kings don't beat it.

The Kings have expressed a willingness to give Evans a contract with an annual average in the $9 million range.

Evans is a restricted free agent, giving the Kings the ability to match. The Kings could engage in sign-and-trade talks with the Pelicans for Evans.

The pivot to Iguodala likely means that Tyreke Evans will move forward with an offer sheet with the New Orleans Pelicans.

Clippers Send Bledsoe To Suns To Acquire Redick, Dudley

The Los Angeles Clippers, Milwaukee Bucks and Phoenix Suns have agreed upon a three-team trade.

The Clippers will acquire J.J. Redick and Jared Dudley, while sending Eric Bledsoe and Caron Butler to the Suns. The Bucks will acquire two second round picks.

Redick will receive a four-year, $27 million deal as part of the sign-and-trade.

The Clippers have long considered Bledsoe as their best movable asset to improve the structure of their roster. Bledsoe's minutes were always going to be limited playing behind Chris Paul and the Clippers would not be able to afford to keep him on a new deal in 14-15.

The three-team deal came together in less than 24 hours as the Clippers did not put Bledsoe on the market until Paul agreed to his extension.

A source tells ESPN's Ramona Shelburne that Doc Rivers was "amazing" during his dinner on Monday with Redick. The meeting convinced Redick that he wanted to join the Clippers.

Josh Smith, Rockets Discussed Possibility Of Playing With Dwight During Meeting

The Houston Rockets met with Josh Smith on Monday in Los Angeles and the sides discussed the possibility of playing with Dwight Howard.

The Rockets only have enough cap space to sign one max contract player, but Smith could be acquired if the Atlanta Hawks were to agree to a sign-and-trde.

The Rockets have been discussing trade scenarios involving both Omer Asik and Jeremy Lin. Both players will earn $8.3 million each of the next two seasons.

Smith and Howard are close friends.

Kevin Martin Agrees To Four-Year, $28M Deal With Timberwolves
