Sky Sports understands QPR manager Harry Redknapp travelled to France on Saturday to watch midfielder Yann M'Vila in action for Rennes against Bordeaux.Redknapp and chief scout Ian Broomfield made the trip following QPR's goalless draw with the manager's former club Tottenham at Loftus Road on Saturday lunch-time.
Defensive midfielder M'Vila is thought to be high on Redknapp's list of transfer targets this month as he looks to bolster his struggling squad, with the Hoops rock-bottom of the Premier League.
He was a fan of the France international while in charge at Spurs but failed to bring him to White Hart Lane and has previously admitted he is unsure whether the 22-year-old wants to join QPR.
Rangers are rumoured to have offered ?9million (£7.4m) as Rennes hold out for ?12m (£9.9m).
Redknapp could face competition for M'Vila's signature, with Fulham understood to have shown a late interest, while the midfielder has also been linked with a Russian move.

Queens Park Rangers are closing in on the signing of Stoke midfielder Wilson Palacios, according to the player's father.Redknapp is keen to bolster his midfield in this month's transfer window and he is a big fan of Palacios having signed him during his time in charge of Tottenham.
Palacios has fallen out of favour at Stoke and has made just four appearances for Tony Pulis' side this season.
Stoke are willing to offload the Honduras international and Palacios' father, Eulogio, claims Redknapp is keen to be reunited with the 28-year-old at Loftus Road.
"Wilson is going to join QPR. Their manager is interested in signing him once more, as he knows him well," Palacios' father is quoted as saying in The Sun.
"Wilson is going to change clubs as he is not getting games for Stoke. Their manager puts him on the teamsheet but does not play him."

Sky Sports understands that Queens Park Rangers have firmed up their interest in Peter Odemwingie and made a firm bid.The 31-year-old forward, who was born in Uzbekistan, was left out of West Brom's squad which lost 3-2 at Reading.
QPR made an enquiry about the Nigeria international earlier this week and now they have followed that up with a firm offer.
West Brom are yet to respond, but QPR are hopeful that they can succeed with a proposed deal within the next week.
Odemwingie has played just nine league games under Steve Clarke so far this term, scoring four goals.
