Sturridge could miss start of next season
Liverpool are already facing a striker crisis at the start of next season as Daniel Sturridge is unlikely to recover from injury in time for the August kick-off. The 23-year-old suffered serious ankle ligament damage in England's friendly match with the Republic of Ireland last week and, in the worst-case scenario, he could be out for three to four months. With Luis Suarez likely to have departed Liverpool and English football by the end of the transfer window, manager Brendan Rodgers has already set up a deal for Celta Vigo striker Iago Aspas, 25, which is due to be completed this week.
