Nolito could well be reunited with his former Barcelona B manager, Luis Enrique, according to Portuguese sports paper
A Bola.
The player hasn’t hidden his desire to leave Benfica and return toSpanish football on a permanent basis, following his loan deal withGranada CF, during the second half of last season. Granada paid ?600,000for the short-term loan deal, but Nolito was a key performer as theside successfully secured their status in the Primera.
Whilst both the player and Granada were keen to arrange a permanentdeal, Benfica were reportedly steadfast in their valuation of theplayer, requesting no less than ?5 million for a complete sale. Granadaweren’t willing to pay such a price and also seemed unwilling to look atan alternative option, which was to pay roughly half that amount, forhalf the rights of the player.
Celta Vigo and new manager Luis Enrique on the other hand, seem happyto jump at the opportunity, with the Portuguese press indicating thatthe Galician club are now at the point of concluding a deal for Nolito. The deal being quoted is ?2.6 million, for 50% of the rights to theplayer, with Benfica retaining the rest.
As yet, neither Benfica or Celta Vigo have issued any statements or made the deal official.
