Real Betis Balompié have signed the out-of-contract RCD Espanyolmidfielder Joan Verdú who has agreed terms on a four-year contract withthe Seville based side.
Real Betis Balompié continue to strengthen their squad ahead of a UEFAEuropa League play-off in August, with RCD Espanyol captain Joan Verdúarriving at the Liga side on a free transfer.
A product of FC Barcelona's youth setup, the 30-year-old midfielder hasagreed a four-year deal with the Verdiblancos, who registered aseventh-place Liga finish under Pepe Mel last term. Verdú scored 23goals in 144 top-flight appearances during four seasons at Espanyol, theclub he joined from RC Deportivo La Coruña in 2009. He links up withfellow new recruits in Chuli, Danish international goalkeeper StephanAndersen, and midfielders Juanfran and Lorenzo Reyes at the EstadioBenito Villamarín.
