Villarreal FC and RCD Mallorca have agreed the transfer of themidfielder from Ciudad Real, Spain to play with Villarreal for the nextfive seasons.The footballer from La Mancha (Born in Villarta de San Juan, Ciudad Real, Spain on the 14
thof October 1987) started his career playing for CD Móstoles until theage of twenty when he transferred to RCD Mallorca. He started playingfor the reserves, rapidly becoming a key player. In his first year, hemade his debut playing for the first team in their meeting against Xerez(on the 31
st of January, 2010) and in the following season (2010-2011) he played nine games for the first team.
2011- 2012 was the season when Pina became a full time, first teamplayer. He played in more than thirty games, twenty four of those as oneof the starting eleven and he even scored his first goal for Mallorcathat season too. During that time he improved dramatically and became areal asset to Mallorca, becoming one of the most called up players forMallorca playing in thirty six games that season.
Pina normally plays in midfield, but he is also more than capable ofplaying out on the wing if necessary. Strong, explosive, and an untiringhard worker, who has a great first touch as well as being skilled insetting up other players with strong and accurate passing.
Pedro Ríos will also be joining the Submarines for their preseason trainingThe midfielder from Cadiz, like Pina, will be joining the Yellow’sfirst team preseason training next week, where the team will beundergoing various physical tests on Tuesday and Wednesday, followed bytheir first training session of the season on Thursday afternoon inVillarreal’s Sports City.
