Burton sign DelapPUBLISHED

Burton Albion have completed the signing of Rory Delap on a one year contract.
The 37-year-old, who ended a seven year association with Premiership outfit Stoke City in the summer,
has been part of the Brewers’ pre-season set-up; playing in the club’s opening two friendlies.
Delap, who is comfortable in both defence and midfield, arrives at the Pirelli Stadium with a vast amount of experience; having represented Derby County, Southampton, Sunderland and Stoke in the top flight of English football.
In total, the former Republic of Ireland international has made over 550 appearances in all competitions during his career; most recently taking in a loan spell with Barnsley last season.
Delap commented: ‘
The Manager invited me down to the club for pre-season and having been involved for just over a week I’m delighted to sign permanently.
‘From what I’ve seen in a short space of time the club is well run and geared for playing in a higher league and I know that’s something the players all buy into as well. I’m looking forward to getting started.’
