Fenerbahce fans caused mayhem when they set off flares and fireworks outside a hotel in which the Arsenal team were staying before the Champions League play-off clash between the two sides.
The
Arsenal and Fenerbahce match has been the subject of controversy, after it was revealed that the Turkish side could temporarily still take part in the competition despite being banned from European football by UEFA for match fixing in a domestic competition.
Fenerbahce are awaiting a final ruling on the matter from the Court of Arbitration for Sport, and will take on Arsenal tonight in the first-leg of their Champions League bout.
But the disrupting tactics from Fenerbahce fans ahead of the game don't seem to have had the desired effect on the Arsenal squad, with
Gunners midfielder Jack Wilshere revealing on Twitter that the team were getting ready for the game and looking forward to the atmosphere:
"Getting ready for tonight! Had some visitors outside our hotel last night! Atmosphere tonight will be amazing!"

Aaron Ramsey also filmed the incident and uploaded it to his Instagram account, which shows Fenerbahce fans marching through the streets with flares.
