Newcastle boss Alan PardewPardew, Joe Kinnear and chief scout Graham Carr hope to use the money Newcastle expect for Yohan Cabaye to fund a swoop for Lyon midfielder Yoann Gourcuff and resurrect a bid for his team-mate Bafetimbi Gomis.The French international's original transfer to the Magpies earlier in the summer had been problematic with wranglings over agent fees hindering the deal, with the club eventually pulling out of the deal.Gourcuff meanwhile has been heavily linked with a move to Premier League outfit Arsenal, but a move has failed to materialise.
Lyon midfielder Yoann GourcuffNewcastle are in disarray thanks to a 4-0 defeat at Manchester City, where they were forced to do without midfielder Cabaye, who is at the centre of a £20m battle between The Gunners and Paris St-Germain.
PSG boss Laurent Blanc has made his feelings clear on his desire to sign up Cabaye, telling the press: "He is a very good player.
"I have not changed my mind (about him)."For now, he is at Newcastle. I have also read he is in Tottenham's plans."Newcastle, Tottenham or Paris - I hope he will still be at a big club in September."
