United wants Coentrao

With only three days left before transfer window closes next Monday 2nd September, Fabio Coentrao’s future is still up in the air. Now it is Manchester United that is pushing the hardest to sign the Portuguese full-back.
Coentrao has asked to leave Madrid, and the club has given his departure the green light. Even Ancelotti, who considers him a key player inside his squad, has accepted the player’s wish to leave the club. With all three parties in agreement, all that is missing is a good offer for the full-back, because Madrid has made it clear that it will not sell unless there is an offer of more than ?20m on the table.

Real awaits a good offer

The latest club to show an interest in Coentrao is Manchester United. David Moyes is looking for a quality defender and has set his sights on the Portuguese. Coentrao is only interested in joining a club that can offer him Champions League football this season, so he would be willing to play in the Premier League club. All that is left is to see if the Red Devil's offer comes close to Madrid’s asking price.
Without knowing how much Manchester United is offering for Coentrao, to date Monaco has been the club that has bid the most for the full-back. Before Ancelotti’s arrival, it offered ?20m, an offer which was seen by Madrid as insufficient.
