COLE TO MISS MONTENEGRORoy Hodgson's England squad came together at St. George's Park on Monday at the start of a huge few days in their World Cup adventure.
However, after naming a 23-man group for their games against Montenegro and Poland last Thursday, only
Chelsea defender
Ashley Cole didn't report and has withdrawn from the squad due to injury. Cole will be unavailable for the meeting with Montenegro at Wembley on Friday, remaining with his club for further treatment.
Arsenal defender
Kieran Gibbs has been added to Hodgson's squad. Shortly after arriving on Monday afternoon, some of the players took part in a light session on the elite pitch at the national football centre,
while those who played in the Premier League the day before did recovery work.
The squad will step up their preparations throughout the week with the Montenegro game their main focus.
They will then welcome Poland to Wembley next Tuesday and know that maximum points from these final games will secure a place at next summer's World Cup in Brazil.
