Pardew And Krul Win Monthly Awards
Alan Pardew and Tim Krul have been named Barclays Premier League Manager of the Month and Player of the Month respectively for November.
Newcastle United won all four of their top flight fixtures last month, seeing off Chelsea, Tottenham, Norwich and West Brom to climb into the upper reaches of the Premier League.
And Magpies manager Pardew has been rewarded for that outstanding form with the second Manager of the Month award of his career, but his first on Tyneside.
He is the first United boss to pick up the award since Sir Bobby Robson in October 2003.
Goalkeeper Tim Krul's performances have not gone unnoticed either, as he picked up the Player of the Month trophy at the Club's Benton-based Training Centre.
A clean sheet against Chelsea at St. James' Park was impressive, but what followed eight days later at Tottenham was simply astonishing.
The Dutch international stopper pulled off a record-breaking 14 saves to thwart the hosts time and time again with a world class display.
From the routine to the remarkable, Krul made every type of save, while at the other end Loic Remy snatched the only goal of the game.
And the 25-year-old continued those eye-catching displays into home games against Norwich and West Brom, where solid defensive performances were rewarded with maximum points.
