Paul Ince: Blackpool boss sacked after less than a year in charge Blackpool have sacked manager Paul Ince after less than a year in charge of the Championship club.
The 46-year-old was appointed in February 2013 following previous boss Michael Appleton's move to Blackburn.
The Seasiders were briefly top of the Championship this season after winning five of their opening six games, but
are now winless since November. Ince,
given a five-match stadium ban by the Football Association in October, won only 12 out of 42 games as boss. The final straw was a 2-0 defeat at bottom club Barnsley on Saturday, which has also
resulted in Ince's assistants, Alex Rae and Steve Thompson, leaving the club. The former Manchester United, Inter Milan, Liverpool and England midfielder previously managed Macclesfield Town, MK Dons, Blackburn and Notts County.
He achieved success at Stadium MK where he won the League Two title and Football League Trophy before being given a chance in the Premier League by Blackburn.
But Ince lost the job after Rovers won only six out of 21 games in all competitions and more recently, he found himself out of work again when he left Notts County in April 2011.
He spent time watching Blackpool as a fan because his son Tom plays for the club,
and was eventually given a one-year rolling contract and the task of keeping the club in the Championship.
He met that target as they
finished last season in 15th place, five points above the relegation zone. But a
poor run of form in the current campaign, picking up just two points from their last 12 games, and losing to Bolton in the third round of the FA Cup,
prompted chairman Karl Oyston to relieve him of his post.
Tom Ince remains a Blackpool player despite being repeatedly linked with moved to other clubs, most recently Monaco. http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/25828840[ 此帖被羅力亞在2014-01-21 22:52重新編輯 ]
