Ian Culverhouse: Aston Villa sack assistant boss after investigation 
Aston Villa have dismissed assistant manager Ian Culverhouse following an internal investigation.Culverhouse, 49,
was suspended in April, although the club did not officially make public their reasons.
It is understood Villa had
previously sacked head of football operations Gary Karsa, who was similarly suspended last month pending an investigation.Youth-team coach Gordon Cowans and goalkeeper Shay Given were promoted to assist manager Paul Lambert.Culverhouse started his career at Tottenham but made his name as a right-back at Norwich in the 1980s and 90s before spells with Swindon and Brighton.
He joined Wycombe as coach in June 2005, one year before Lambert's arrival as manager.
He and Karsa, who was recruited by Wycombe as head of youth in September 2006, then followed Lambert on every step of his managerial career.

Sky sources understand Ian Culverhouse has been dismissed as Aston Villa's assistant manager after an investigation that followed his suspension last month. Culverhouse, who previously worked with Villa manager Paul Lambert at Norwich and at Colchester, was suspended in April for disciplinary reasons.
The decision to sack Culverhouse means Lambert will likely be on the lookout for two people to join his backroom team
after Villa's head of football operations Gary Karsa left the club last week.
Karsa was the subject of a separate internal investigation and faced allegations of bullying members of staff.
Goalkeeper Shay Given and youth team coach Gordon Cowans stepped into the breach left by the pair on a temporary basis last season.
Whether the pair are retained in those roles remains to be seen but 38-year-old Given, who holds both the UEFA A and B coaching licences,
has been linked with a move away from the club to continue his playing career.
