Source: Celtics interested in No. 1 pick

BOSTON — The Boston Celtics continue to look at all options leading up to the NBA draft which includes landing the No. 1 overall pick.

A league source has told CSNNE.com that the Celtics have engaged the Cleveland Cavaliers about acquiring the No. 1 overall pick in Thursday's NBA draft.

Clippers interested in making a run at LeBron James

Doc Rivers, the Clippers’ president of basketball operations and coach, and his staff are doing their due diligence to make the team better and would consider moving All-Star power forward Blake Griffin along with others in a sign-and-trade deal to get James, according to the officials.

The Clippers could consider sending Griffin and Jared Dudley or Griffin and Matt Barnes to Miami to get James.

The Clippers wouldn’t mind trading DeAndre Jordan, Jamal Crawford and either Barnes or Dudley to the Heat for James, but the team knows that would most likely be hard to do.

Pistons may trade Josh Smith

Sources close to the situation told ESPN.com on Tuesday that the Pistons have engaged the Sacramento Kings in trade discussions this week that would potentially land Josh Smith in the same Sacramento frontcourt as DeMarcus Cousins and Rudy Gay.

Sources say that Smith being swapped in exchange for the combination of Sacramento's Jason Thompson and Derrick Williams is one trade construction that the teams have discussed. Although one source insisted Tuesday that no deal is imminent, another source told ESPN.com that the teams have continued to exchange proposals, with Williams potentially being replaced by another Kings player such as Jason Terry or Carl Landry.

ESPN：快艇不會交易Blake Griffin

熱火的LeBron James和尼克的Carmelo Anthony已經確定將進入自由球員市場，很多球隊都對這兩位球員非常感興趣，這其中就包括快艇。考慮到快艇的薪資狀況，他們必須青出一些薪資空間才能向這兩位球員中的一位開出頂薪。

ESPN記者 Ramona Shelburne撰文寫道：「有一個球員是他們(快艇)沒有興趣交易的，那就是前鋒Blake Griffin。」

據Ramona Shelburne透露，有多個聯盟消息告訴ESPN，快艇教練Doc Rivers已經在很多場合下告訴過Blake Griffin，不管是什麼樣的交易，Griffin都是不可交易的。

按照現在的薪資情況，快艇隊下個賽季的總薪水為7600萬美元，不過算上Darren Collison、Glen Davis和Danny Granger等人選擇跳出合約，他們的總薪水將下降到7170萬美元。

如果快挺隊想要得到LeBron或者Melo，他們勢必要交易走DeAndre Jordan（11.4m/1y）、Jared Dudley（12.1M/3y）、Matt Barnes（10.1M/3y）、Jamal Crawford（16.3M/3y）或者JJ Redick（27.7M/4y）中的一個來促成交易。

Ramona Shelburne表示，目前關於追求LeBron或者Melo的討論都只存在於快艇內部。消息還透露，快艇在今年春天的時候和魔術隊商討過交易Arron Afflalo的事情，但是他們的報價很快被魔術斷然拒絕，因為魔術不喜歡快艇所提供的籌碼。

Mavericks, Knicks pull off big trade

The Mavericks and the New York Knicks have agreed to a six-player trade that sends center Tyson Chandler back to Dallas.

The Mavericks, who immediately made reacquiring Chandler one of their priorities after their first-round playoff exit against San Antonio, completed a trade with the Knicks that was clinched by agreeing to take back the contract of New York's out-of-favor guard Raymond Felton as well.


The trade cost Dallas two starters -- point guard Jose Calderon and center Samuel Dalembert -- along with prized young point guard Shane Larkin, reserve guard Wayne Ellington and the 34th and 51st picks in Thursday's draft.

Sources: Cavs make Tyronn Lue top-paid assistant coach in NBA history

The Cleveland Cavaliers have made associate head coach Tyronn Lue the highest-paid assistant coach in NBA history – and perhaps all of professional sports – league sources told Yahoo Sports.

To leave Doc Rivers and the Los Angeles Clippers to join coach David Blatt's staff with the Cavaliers, Lue agreed to a four-year, $6.5 million deal, sources said. The contract's final two years will pay Lue $1.75 million and $2 million, league sources said. The fourth year of the deal is a team option, sources said.

Bucks' Giannis Antetokounmpo Has Grown Nearly 2 Inches Since 2013 NBA Draft

The Greek Freak continues to amaze.

Giannis Antetokounmpo was 6'9" when he was selected by the Milwaukee Bucks with the 15th pick in the 2013 NBA draft. We quickly found out that he has enormous hands to go with his long body. However, he has gotten even bigger since he was drafted.

Bucks general manager John Hammond shared an interesting detail about the 19-year-old phenom in a pre-draft interview with the Journal Sentinel's Matt Velazquez:

[Velazquez] Have you had discussions about how players' positions may change based on No. 2 pick?

[Hammond] We've talked about that. I think, once again, that these guys are multiple-position guys helps that discussion. For that matter, I think Giannis is going to be a multiple-position player some day. He came last September he was 6-9, 190 (lbs.) and today he's almost 6-11, 217 pounds. I think Giannis is a guy that is going to be able to play, at his size, he's going to be able to play some small forward and he's going to play some power forward some day.

That's right, the teenager grew about two inches during his rookie season. Size is something that a coach can't teach, and Milwaukee now has a player on its roster bordering on 6'11" who used to play point guard in Greece.

One thing is certain: With the No. 2 pick in 2014 and Antetokounmpo brimming with potential, the Bucks will be hard-pressed not to eclipse last year's 15-67 record.
