Transfer news: Juventus sign striker Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid for 20m euros

Juventus have completed the signing of striker Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid.

The Serie A champions will pay 20million euros (£15.8m) for Morata, who has signed a five-year contract.

A statement on the Juventus website confirmed the deal and revealed

Real have an option to buy back the player in the summers of 2016 or 2017 for a fee of up to 30m euros.

Morata is a Spain Under-21 international and was part of Carlo Ancelotti's first-team squad last season, but he started just three league games.

Arsenal and Wolfsburg were among the other clubs linked with the 21-year-old.

Real, meanwhile, have loaned Brazilian midfielder Casemiro to Porto for the forthcoming season.

The Portuguese club will have the chance to make the deal permanent next summer.

The 21-year-old is said to be edging towards leaving the Spanish capital for Turin - despite reported interest from both Arsenal and Wolfsburg

Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata is closing in on a move to Italian champions Juventus, according to his agent.

The 21-year-old has been linked with several sides after Los Blancos boss Carlo Ancelotti

admitted that the youngster had been left frustrated with his lack of starts for the Spanish side last season.

The player’s agent, Juanma Lopez, spent Monday morning at the Santiago Bernabeu offices


and was reported to have told AS that his client had moved “a little closer to Juventus”.

Real Madrid are willing to sell Morata to the Scudetto holders given their plethora of attacking options

but are reportedly intent on including a buy-back clause in the deal for the youth academy product.

Morata – who was not chosen to travel to the World Cup in Brazil with the Spain squad this summer –

has also been linked with a move to Premier League side Arsenal and German club Wolfsburg in recent weeks.

Morata started just three of Madrid's Liga games last season but scored eight goals in a grand total of 23 appearances for the club.

Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata has stated that he is "happy" to be joining Juventus this summer.

The Spain Under-21 international is reported to be on the verge of completing a ?22million (£17.5m) move to the Italian champions.

Morata made his debut for Real back in December 2010 and was part of the first team under coach Carlo Ancelotti last season.

However, the 21-year-old has decided to leave the Santiago Bernabeu in order to play regular football

and will reportedly sign a four-year contract with Juve, with Real inserting a buy-back clause that will be activated in 2016.

Morata is delighted to be joining the Turin club, who have won Serie A for the past three seasons.

with the club after a fee of ? 20 million, to be paid over three years, was agreed with Real Madrid.
