Yaya Toure: Man City midfielder wanted by Roberto Mancini



Former Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini believes Yaya Toure wants to leave the club and says he would be keen to take him to Inter Milan.

The 31-year-old Ivorian midfielder has been at City for five years and won the Premier League under Mancini in 2012.

Mancini, who has been Inter coach since November, said: "He's played in almost every league except Germany and Italy.

"If, as seems to be the case, he wants to try Serie A we'll look into the possibility but it won't be easy."

Toure, who last month helped the Ivory Coast win the Africa Cup of Nations, began his career with Belgian club Beveren and also had spells in Ukraine, Greece and France before joining Barcelona in 2007.

He won the Champions League, World Club Cup, Uefa Super Cup, two La Liga titles and one Copa del Rey during his three years at the Nou Camp.

Yaya Toure a target for Inter Milan, says general director Marco Fassone

Inter Milan general director Marco Fassone admits the club are interested in taking Yaya Toure from Manchester City.

Toure, 31, is under contract at Etihad Stadium until 2017 but reports in Italy have suggested Inter are preparing an audacious 60m-euro bid for the Ivory Coast midfielder.

Fassone said: "Who doesn't dream of having a player like him? Toure would give our midfield line something that we are lacking.

"But his wages and City's asking price might be a big obstacle."

Inter manager Roberto Mancini managed Toure at City between 2010 and 2013 and is thought to be keen on bolstering his squad, with stars such as striker Mauro Icardi, midfielder Mateo Kovacic and goalkeeper Samir Handanovic all the subject of transfer speculation.

"We are almost there with respect to Icardi's contract extension," Fassone said. "We want to keep him just as we want to keep Kovacic. We will evaluate with great care (their) eventual offers.

"It's clear that if we want to sign three players (this summer) we will need to evaluate those that will depart.

"Handanovic's renewal is an issue that we must resolve at once. We need to understand what he wants. We cannot go into next season knowing that our goalkeeper's contract expires."

Yaya Toure is '90% certain' to leave Manchester City this summer

Yaya Toure’s agent has told Sky Sports News HQ he is 90% certain the midfielder will leave Manchester City this summer.

Dimitri Seluk confirmed three clubs are chasing Toure’s signature but he has yet to decide where his future lies.

The Ivory Coast international will wait until the end of the season before he makes a final decision.

Toure’s agent confirmed talks are set to take place with Man City next week.

Inter Milan president keen to sign Yaya Toure from Manchester City

Inter Milan are determined to sign Yaya Toure from Manchester City, according to club president Erick Thohir.

Toure has two years remaining on his contract but has been heavily linked with a move away from the Etihad this summer.

Inter would appear a logical destination given they are coached by former City boss Roberto Mancini, who brought Toure to the Premier League from Barcelona in 2010.

Asked about the chances of signing the Ivorian, Thohir said in an interview with Indonesian newspaper Tempo: "Chances? I do not know. What is clear is we will continue to try to bring him here."

Toure's adviser Dimitri Seluk has cast doubt on the player's position at City, claiming recently that he was "90 per cent" certain to leave this summer.

The midfielder, who turned 32 on Wednesday, was urged to stay by fans, who sang 'Happy Birthday' to him during Sunday's 6-0 defeat of QPR.

Toure memorably became embroiled in a farcical row last year over how the club celebrated his birthday.
