Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson claims April awardLeicester city boss Nigel Pearson has been named Barclays Premier League Manager of the Month for April.Pearson guided Leicester to a run of four straight victories during April, lifting them off the Premier League’s bottom spot and out of the relegation zone.Leicester had gone 140 days without a win before they beat West Ham at the beginning of April, following that up by defeating West Brom, Swansea and Burnley.
April ended with a 3-1 defeat at home to Chelsea, but Pearson’s side returned to winning ways against Newcastle last weekend, taking their recent run to five wins in six matches.
The 51-year-old beat Chelsea’s Jose Mourinho, Arsenal’s Arsene Wenger and Everton’s Roberto Martinez to land his first Manager of the Month award this season.

Aston Villa’s Christian Benteke has been named Player of the Month for April after a prolific run in front of goal.The Belgian rediscovered his best form last month, scoring in the loss to Manchester United, before hitting a hat-trick against QPR and then netting in the win against Tottenham.
Benteke also scored the opener in the FA Cup semi-final win over Liverpool as Aston Villa set up a final showdown against Arsenal.
The 24-year-old saw off competition from Eden Hazard, Mesut Ozil, Yannick Bolasie, Esteban Cambiasso and Ander Herrera to land the award.
