Premier League player released list for 2014/15 season




Which players have been put on the released list by their Premier League clubs?

Premier League clubs have submitted the list of players that they will be keeping in their squads, and the ones they will be releasing this summer.

It is important to note that although these players are on the released list, it does not neccessarily mean they are heading for the exit door. It may just mean their contract expires on June 30 and has still to be extended.

Abou Diaby, as expected, is on the Arsenal list and it appears his nine-year injury-hit career at the Emirates is over. Ron Vlaar is among those named released by Aston Villa - but the club has offered him a new contract.

Hull have released the most players - 13 - whilst champions Chelsea have just one, Didier Drogba.

Liverpool confirmed the departures of captain Steven Gerrard, Glen Johnson and goalkeeper Brad Jones.

Gerrard is joining Los Angeles Galaxy next month while the latest club to be linked with Johnson are Besiktas, the side which knocked the Reds out of the Europa League last season.

Rio Ferdinand and Joey Barton among six to leave QPR



Defender Rio Ferdinand, 36, and 32-year-old midfielder Joey Barton are among six players who will be released by relegated QPR this summer.
Centre-back Richard Dunne, 35, winger Shaun Wright-Phillips, 33, striker Bobby Zamora, 34, and 32-year-old goalkeeper Brian Murphy will also go.
All six players are out of contract at Loftus Road on 30 June.
Defender Clint Hill, 36, and midfielder Alejandro Faurlin, 28, will both be offered new contracts by the club.
Midfielder Karl Henry, 32, has until 30 June to decide whether he wishes to take up the option of an extra year and remain with the club in the Championship next season.
QPR were relegated from the Premier League after just one season back in the top flight.

Albion begin plans for next season

ALBION today began their preparations for 2015/16 with Tony Pulis announcing the Club's retained list.

The Baggies will be taking up 12-month options on Boaz Myhill and Claudio Yacob - with the Club due to open talks over a new deal with out-of-contract defender Gareth McAuley.

However, Youssouf Mulumbu is ending his six-year association with the Baggies after the Club decided not to exercise their one-year option on the midfielder, after 211 appearances for Albion.

Myhill and Yacob, who blossomed during the latter half of this season, will return for pre-season training at the end of next month, with both players in talks over new deals.

Chris Baird and Jason Davidson have been released, while Andre Wisdom will return to Liverpool following the end of his season-long loan spell.

Saints release six

Six professionals are to leave the club having been informed that their contracts will not be extended when they come to an end this summer.

Jos Hooiveld, Artur Boruc, Cody Cropper, Omar Rowe, Jake Sinclair and Chris Johns have been released from their contracts.

Furthermore, Dan Demkiv, Mark Irvine, Niall Mason and Chris Regis have left the club at the end of their two-year scholarships.

The club wishes every departing player the very best of luck for the future, and thanks them for their efforts and service during their time at Southampton.

Hull City: Paul McShane and Steve Harper among six released

Relegated Hull City have released six players, including defender Paul McShane and goalkeeper Steve Harper.
McShane, 29 joined the Tigers in August 2009 and made 136 appearances in all competitions while Harper, 40, played 31 times in two seasons with the club.
Also leaving are defenders Joe Dudgeon, 24, Maynor Figueroa, 32, and Liam Rosenior, 30, and striker Yannick Sagbo, 27.
Defender Alex Bruce and midfielder Stephen Quinn have been offered deals.
Bruce, 30, who is the son of Tigers boss Steve, has made 74 league appearances in three seasons, while Republic of Ireland international Quinn, 29, has played 85 league games for the KC Stadium side.
"Regrettably, following relegation, we have made the decision to release the majority of those players whose contracts have expired. We would like to place on record our thanks for the service they have given to the club," manager Bruce told the club website.

Alan Tate and Gerhard Tremmel not offered new deals by Swansea

Defender Alan Tate and goalkeeper Gerhard Tremmel have been released by Swansea City.
Neither were offered new deals by the Swans, who have also released Wales Under-21s keeper David Cornell.
Tom Atyeo, Corey Francis, Giancarlo Gallifuoco, Joseph Jones, Kurtis March, Gareth Owen and Scott Tancock have been released.
Striker Rory Donnelly and defender Curtis Obeng also depart having failed to break into the first team.

Tate's departure brings to an end an association with Swansea which began in 2002 when he joined the club on loan from Manchester United.
The 32-year-old played in Swansea's 4-2 win over Hull City on the final day of the 2002-2003 season which secured their Football League status.
He moved to the club on a permanent deal in 2004 and made nearly 350 appearances as the club progressed through the divisions.
He captained Swansea in the club's first ever Premier League fixture - a 4-0 defeat at Manchester City in August 2011 - but since then has been on loan at Leeds, Yeovil Town, Aberdeen and Crewe Alexandra.
German goalkeeper Tremmel joined Swansea from Red Bull Salzburg on a free transfer in August 2011 and was back-up to Michel Vorm and Lukasz Fabianski during his time at the club.
The 36-year-old was a member of the side which won the Capital One League Cup in 2013 following a 5-0 win over Bradford City.
Tremmel played in 52 games for Swansea including six appearances this season.

Hammers confirm Retain List

West Ham United have issued their Retain List of players at the end of the 2014/15 season.

The Hammers have confirmed that senior professionals Carlton Cole, Guy Demel, Jussi Jaaskelainen and Nene will all leave the Club at the end of their contracts on 30 June.

Young professionals Kieran Bywater, Sean Maguire, Paul McCallum and Dan Potts will also depart the Boleyn Ground after not being offered new contracts.

Scholars Jerry Amoo and Kieran Bailey have been released, while Taylor Tombides will also be moving on.

Meanwhile, youngsters Kyle Knoyle, Djair Parfitt-Williams and Alex Pike have agreed their first professional deals with the Club and will sign contracts from 1 July.

STOKE CITY have submitted its retained list to the Premier League following the conclusion of the 2014/15 season.

The Potters can confirm Andy Wilkinson, Thomas Sorensen and Wilson Palacios will all depart the Britannia Stadium when their contracts expire on 30th June.

Wilkinson has served the Club for 15 years, making 194 appearances for his boyhood team after making his first-team debut back in October 2001.

Sorensen racked up 129 appearances over seven years after joining on a free transfer from Aston Villa in July 2008 whilst Palacios played 53 times following his switch from Tottenham Hotspur in August 2011.

Nine of the Under-21s squad have also been released following the expiration of their contracts, whilst George Waring, Peter Skapetis, Joel Taylor and Mason Watkins-Clark have been made contract offers to stay with the Club.

Seven scholars have also been offered professional contracts, a list including Stoke-born Under-18s captain Lewis Banks.

Jonas Gutierrez and Ryan Taylor released by Newcastle United

Newcastle United have confirmed Jonas Gutierrez and Ryan Taylor will not be offered new contracts and will leave the club this summer.

Gutierrez has been with Newcastle since 2008 and, after making a recovery from testicular cancer, played a starring role in keeping the club in the Premier League this season.

The Argentina international midfielder set up the opening goal for Moussa Sissoko and then scored their second in the final day 2-0 win over West Ham that secured their top-flight status.He made 205 appearances for the club and scored 12 goals.

Taylor played 110 times for Newcastle and scored 10 times after joining from Wigan in 2009, but his time on Tyneside was blighted by a pair of serious knee ligament injuries.

Both players will become free agents when their deals expire on June 30.The club's managing director Lee Charnley said: "Ryan and Jonas have both contributed significantly to Newcastle United over a number of years and on behalf of the board, I would like to place on record our sincere thanks to both players for the excellent service they have given the club.

"It was a great pleasure to see Ryan and Jonas come back into the team in recent weeks and compete at the highest level after the injury and illness battles they have had to overcome.

"To come through those difficult periods with such strength and dignity will have given hope and inspiration to many and it is clear that our supporters have a deep connection and affection for both players, as does everyone associated with the club."

Newcastle have also released Jak Alnwick, Adam Campbell and Remie Streete, while Facundo Ferreyra has returned to Shakhtar Donetsk at the end of his loan.

However, the club have revealed a new deal has been offered to forward Sammy Ameobi.

The 23-year-old academy graduate, younger brother of former United striker Shola, played 25 Premier League matches for the Magpies last term and is out of contract at the end of June.
