Leicester have submitted a £7million bid for the Mainz striker Shinji Okazaki, according to Sky sources. The 28-year-old scored 12 goals in 32 appearances for the Bundesliga club last season - his second at the club since signing from Stuttgart in 2013.
Okazaki has scored 27 goals in total for Mainz, who finished seventh in the German top flight in 2014-15, and has played almost 100 times for the club.
Okazaki has 93 caps and 43 goals for Japan - one the most prolific goalscorers in the country's history.
He began his career with Shizuoka-based side Shimizu S-Pulse, scoring 42 goals before a 2011 move to Stuttgart.
