Hull City have confirmed they have rejected a third bid from Norwich City for winger Robbie Brady.

The Canaries’ latest offer for the 23-year-old Republic of Ireland international was £3m and talks between the clubs remain ongoing.

Norwich manager Alex Neil is keen to bring Brady to Carrow Road as he looks to strengthen his squad ahead of their return to the Premier League.

Brady, who started his career with Manchester United, was a regular for Hull last season, making 34 appearances as the Tigers were relegated from the top flight.

He joined Hull permanently from United in 2013 after two successful loan spells and has made 13 appearances for the Republic of Ireland, scoring three goals.

Hull accept undisclosed bid from Norwich for Robbie Brady

Hull City manager Steve Bruce has confirmed the club have accepted a bid from Norwich for midfielder Robbie Brady.

No fee has been made public for the Republic of Ireland international who has yet to undergo a medical and finalise terms at Carrow Road.

But Bruce insists Norwich cleared the first hurdle in their attempts to sign the 23-year-old following Hull’s 0-0 draw with Hannover on Sunday.

"The two clubs have agreed a fee for Robbie," he said. "We have given Robbie permission to go and speak to Norwich. I envisage that deal to go through.

"I want to thank Robbie for his efforts as he has been a terrific player for us. It's sad to see him go but most people will understand that when you get relegated these things happen.

“When Norwich were relegated last season, we got Robert Snodgrass. They are doing the reverse this year and they have taken one of our good players. And he is a good player, and we wish him the best of luck."

Brady will become Norwich's fourth signing of the summer after Graham Dorrans, Youssouf Mulumbu and Tony Andreu, but manager Alex Neil is still hoping to make further additions.

"I think there has been a lot of speculation surrounding us and players," Neil said in a local newspaper.

"Rickie Lambert was tagged with us maybe two or three weeks ago now and then it went quiet and it crept back up again. At the moment it is just speculation.

"I think having added Graham Dorrans and Mulumbu if I could add another three or four I would be pleased. Over the course of the start of this week onwards we would like to hopefully do a couple more bits of business."

Robbie Brady joins Norwich from Hull on three-year deal

Norwich have completed the signing of Robbie Brady from Hull City.

The Republic of Ireland winger joins on a three-year contract for an undisclosed fee and is City's third signing since promotion to the Premier League was secured last month.

The move means Brady leaves Hull after four seasons, two of them on loan, and 124 appearances.

"I’m really pleased to sign Robbie," said Norwich boss Alex Neil, who has also signed Graham Dorrans and Youssouf Mulumbu this summer. "As everyone’s aware, we’ve been chasing him for quite a while.

"He’ll be an absolutely perfect fit for us. Hopefully he can go on and show everything that we think he’s capable of.

"He’s dynamic, he’s got good energy to get up and down the pitch, and he’s got a fantastic left foot which makes him a real danger at set-pieces. He’s got a lot of things in his locker.

"It gives us good competition down the left side. He’s got good pedigree and he’s still young so he’s got his best days ahead of him, so we’re just really happy that we’ve managed to get it over the line."

Asked about the possibility of more signings, Neil told the club website: "We won’t be rushed. Any incomings have got to be right for the football club and right for the group.

"We want to make sure we do everything right and that we cover all bases, and that’s why this deal took a bit of time, but it’s important that we cover all that so we’re sure we make the right choices."
