Javier Hernandez has won back-to-back Bundesliga Player of the Month awards. The former Manchester United striker has scored seven goals in his last five matches, including a hat-trick against Borussia Monchengladbach, to be voted the Bundesliga's best in November and December. Hernandez joined Bayern Leverkusen in the summer for £12m after being told he was surplus to requirements at Old Trafford by manager Louis van Gaal.
The Mexico striker spent last season on loan at Real Madrid where he scored eight goals and returned to United after the Spanish giants decided against making the move permanent.
Hernandez then joined Leverkusen on a three-year deal after he was told by Van Gaal he had only a "one per cent chance" of playing up front for United.
Van Gaal bolstered his attack and replaced Hernandez by splashing out £36m on Anthony Martial, but the French forward has netted only three times in his last 18 games.
Wayne Rooney has not scored in the Premier League since mid-October and goal-shy United are winless in their last eight matches and have scored just twice in their last five league games.
