Transfer latest: Sunderland linked to Trabzonspor’s ex-Hull striker Dame N’Doye



Sunderland have been linked with ex-Hull City frontman Dame N’Doye, as Sam Allardyce searches for striking recruits in the January transfer window.

The Black Cats are understood to be considering a host of options up front, with a centre-forward now Allardyce’s priority in the market after the capture of defender Jan Kirchhoff this week.

Reports in Turkey have claimed that N’Doye could be on his way to the Stadium of Light in a loan deal until the end of the season.

The Senegal international joined Hull last January and netted five goals in 15 appearances, before the Tigers were ultimately relegated.

N’Doye joined Trabzonspor in a £2.2million deal during the summer, but the 30-year-old has failed to find the net for the Turkish side in 12 appearances.

N'DOYE EXPECTED AT SUNDERLAND

Dame N'Doye is expected on Wearside for a medical ahead proposed loan move to Sunderland from Trabzonspor until end of season, Sky sources understand.

The former Hull City striker joined Trabzonspor for £2.2million last summer but he has failed to score since arriving in Turkey.

Sunderland are close to signing former Hull striker Dame N'Doye on loan until the end of the season.
The 30-year-old scored five times for Hull after signing last February before joining Turkish side Trabzonspor.
Sunderland boss Sam Allardyce said: "I think he will bring goals.
"He knows and has experienced the Premier League. Let's hope he can achieve the improvement we are looking for in terms of converting more chances and scoring goals."
N'Doye was a deadline day signing for Hull 12 months ago and scored goals in wins over QPR, Aston Villa and Crystal Palace - but could not prevent the Tigers from relegation.
He moved to Turkey last summer but has not scored in 12 appearances.

Sunderland sign Senegal striker Dame N'Doye on loan

Sunderland have signed Senegal striker Dame N'Doye on loan from Turkish side Trabzonspor, the Premier League club have announced.

The 30-year-old, who will remain on Wearside until the end of the season, began his career in his native Senegal with Jeanne d'Arc before enjoying spells with Portuguese side Academica and Greek clubs Panathinaikos and OFI Crete.

He made his name in Denmark with FC Copenhagen, scoring 59 goals in 104 appearances, before moving to Lokomotiv Moscow and then Hull City, where he scored five goals in 15 appearances as the Tigers fought an unsuccessful battle against relegation.

Manager Sam Allardyce said: "Dame will bring something different to our forward options. Having already played in the Premier League, he should have no problems in hitting the ground running too, which is very important at this stage of the season."

The new striker will not be available for this weekend's clash with Tottenham as the club completes the work on his visa application.
