Crystal Palace have completed the signing of Emmanuel Adebayor.

The 31-year-old Togo striker was a free agent having been released by Tottenham in September but has agreed a deal at Selhurst Park until the end of the current campaign.

It is understood negotiations between Adebayor's representatives and Palace began just over a fortnight ago.

The player has been training every day with a personal trainer and passed his medical at the south London club on Tuesday morning.

He will be assessed by the Palace backroom staff on Wednesday and they will establish whether he will be fit enough to feature in the Eagles' FA Cup fourth-round tie at home to Stoke on Saturday.

The former Arsenal and Manchester City forward has been handed the number 25 shirt by Palace.

Adebayor was close to a move to Aston Villa in the summer but turned down the chance to play under former Tottenham head coach Tim Sherwood, and then a deadline-day move to West Ham also broke down.

He was not named in either Tottenham's Premier League or Europa League squads and, with just a year left on his contract, was released by mutual consent.

Palace manager Alan Pardew confirmed on Friday that he was still hoping to sign "a big player" this month, and said: "We're after somebody who would fit into our group and give us a lift. It'd be nice to see a big player come in, so we'll see."

Palace have not scored in the league since beating Stoke 2-1 on December 19, a run of five Premier League games that includes three successive defeats, and Adebayor has been brought in to help address that profligacy.

現列英超第11位的水晶宮官方宣佈，與31歲老將艾迪巴約（Emmanuel Adebayor）達成加盟共識，自由身加盟，直至今季結束。艾迪巴約去年9月被熱刺解約，最終決定不打「北」家打「南」家，由北倫敦去到南倫敦，並繼續留在英超。

該名多哥首席前鋒由摩納哥轉投阿仙奴後，揚名英超，隨後以2500萬鎊改投曼城，惜表現每況愈下，曾借到皇家馬德里，始終無法翻身。

直至獲熱刺賞識，艾迪巴約於2011/12年球季借用加盟，翌季被買斷，一度鹹魚翻生，但好景不常，去季起被領隊普捷天奴投閒置散，終在今季被棄用。

The striker, who has scored 96 goals in 230 league games, has been without a club since September when his deal with Tottenham Hotspur was terminated by mutual consent. While the player became a free agent, Spurs have effectively been paying his £100,000-a-week wages as per their original contract with the 31-year-old, with that arrangement due to run through to the end of June.

It is understood their contribution to his weekly salary will now be reduced to around £35,000 a week until the summer with Palace making up the remainder. His situation will be reviewed at the end of May but any deal that would apply for the 2015-16 campaign would be heavily incentivised and include a break clause that could be triggered if the former Arsenal, Manchester City and Real Madrid player violates any of the club’s disciplinary rules.
