Sevilla's Yevhen Konoplyanka close to Schalke transfer - source 
Schalke are closing in on the signing of Sevilla winger Yevhen Konoplyanka, sources close to the club have told ESPN FC. Sevilla are willing to let Konoplyanka move on just a year after signing the Ukraine international from Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk.
Konoplyanka made 52 appearances in all competitions for Sevilla last season as he helped them to win the Europa League for a third consecutive campaign.
The 26-year-old has long been a target for a number of Premier League clubs, but Schalke are ready to offer him the chance to move to the Bundesliga.
Sources have told ESPN FC that Konoplyanka has been given the green light to travel to Germany to hold talks and undergo a medical at Schalke. Schalke are looking to build a squad capable of challenging again in Germany and have recently brought in Nabil Bentaleb on loan from Tottenham Hotspur and Benjamin Stambouli from Paris Saint-Germain.
