The Italian hitman scored for the Hornets in an Under-23 game on Tuesday night having seen a switch to Pescara fall through
Watford are running the rule over ex-Manchester United striker Federico Macheda during a trial spell. The Italian is a free agent after being dumped by Championship strugglers Cardiff last month.
Macheda, 25, is desperate to stay in English football after seeing a switch to Serie A side Pescara fall through.
He scored a penalty in his run-out for Watford Under-23s in Tuesday’s 4-2 loss at Hull.
And Macheda aims to impress Hornets boss Walter Mazzarri to win a Vicarage Road deal.
