Odion Ighalo very close to leaving Watford for China - Sky sources

Odion Ighalo is very close to leaving Watford and moving to Chinese club Changchun Yatai, according to Sky sources.

Boss Walter Mazzarri confirmed on Friday that the club was considering a "very important" offer for the striker and it is now understand that Ighalo - who has scored just twice this season after scoring 17 last term - is set to go.

Mazzarri's forward options have been boosted with the arrival of Mauro Zarate on a two-and-a-half-year deal from Fiorentina, while M'Baye Niang has also joined on loan.

Ighalo is unlikely to be the only player to leave before the window slams shut on Tuesday.

Sky sources understand Birmingham City are set to sign Jerome Sinclair on loan until the end of the season.

Hull City are interested in midfielder Adlene Guerdioura, while Ecuadorian right-back Juan Carlos Paredes is a target for Greek side Olympiakos.

Watford striker Odion Ighalo has passed his medical ahead of move to Chongchun Yatai.

MATT BARLOW: Odion Ighalo is leaving Watford for Changchun Yatai but the transfer may not be completed today.
There is no urgency because China’s transfer window remains open for another month.
The clubs have settled on a fee of around £20million and the 27-year-old Nigerian international has still to finalise his personal details.
Ighalo scored 17 in all competitions last season but has scored only twice this season and has fallen out of favour since Walter Mazzarri replaced Quique Sanchez Flores.

He would become the second striker to leave the Hornets today, following Jerome Sinclair's Birmingham switch.
