Aaron Ramsey's 79th-minute header proved to be the FA Cup final winner after Diego Costa had cancelled out Alexis Sanchez's early strike at Wembley Stadium on Saturday evening.

英球壇今季最後一項殊榮英足盃，由車路士和阿仙奴爭奪。在英超封王的車仔力爭雙冠王頭銜，排出今季的常規勝利11人；今戰後正式離開球會的泰利，先列後備。阿仙奴方面，期待以捧盃來結束無緣聯賽前四的失意球季，領隊雲加續排3-4-3陣式和車仔正面對撼，在哥斯尼停賽兼梅斯達菲受傷下，要起用今季只踢過37分鐘的梅斯達菲踢中堅，而門將位置如賽前所料，收起施治出奧斯賓拿。

開賽僅4分鐘，阿仙奴閃電領先，但入球有爭議。阿歷斯山齊士（Alexis Sanchez）疑似犯手球闖入禁區，快腳施射得手，車仔球員舉手投訴，旁證亦在入球後舉旗，皆因另一兵工廠球員艾朗藍斯在入球時，亦處於越位位置。球證其後走到邊線和旁證商議，認為藍斯沒有影響比賽進行，判入球有效。

兵工廠領先後未有放軟手腳，繼續發動攻勢，相反車仔卻顯得被動；16分鐘，奧斯爾落禁區右路底線接應傳送，引泰拔高圖爾斯出迎後窄位起腳，但被加利卡希爾門線前清走皮球，3分鐘後，又有韋碧克接應角球頂中柱。

車仔戰至上半場中段才搶得較多控球權，但整體發揮平平，半場無法扳平比數，易邊後表現有所改善，並陸續換入法比加斯及韋利安，力求扭轉敗局，果然去到76分鐘，韋利安傳入禁區，迪亞高哥斯達控定皮球後，抽射成1:1。被扳平後，雲加亦變招換入基奧特，結果這位中鋒入場後第一次觸球，便替球隊製造入球，於左路底線傳中，助艾朗藍斯頭槌建功，再度領先。

車仔尾段回魂乏術，包括哥斯達的射門被奧斯賓拿擋出，結果雙冠王美夢粉碎，以1:2落敗。兵工廠則4年內第3次捧走足總盃，也算是為整個球季拿回一個安慰獎。
