Juventus have identified Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny as a possible replacement for Gigi Buffon who will hang his boots in 12 months.

According to a report of Sky Sport (via ilbianconero), the Old Lady are close to landing the Poland International.

The Champions League finalists have offered Szczesny a four-year, ? 4 million-a-year deal and are ready to offer Arsenal ? 16 million to sign the 27-year-old goalkeeper.

The Gunners are open to sell their goalkeeper for some cash and the offer of the Old Lady could be enough to land the talented goalkeeper who has spent the last two seasons in Italy.

​Szczesny played for AS Roma from summer 2015 until the end of the current campaign but AS Roma have failed to make the player’s loan move permanent twice.

​Arsenal are yet not considering Szczesny starting material and Napoli are also believed to be interested in signing him.

The offer of the Old Lady, however, means she is now in pole position for the Arsenal goalkeeper.

Wojciech Szczesny: Arsenal goalkeeper signs for Italian champions Juventus

Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny has completed a £10m move to Juventus.

The 27-year-old, who spent the last two years on loan at Roma, signed a four-year deal with the Italian champions.

The Polish international played 38 times for Roma last season and kept 14 clean sheets - the most in Serie A.

"When you come to Juve, it's because you've been chosen. I had no hesitation," said Szczesny, who made 132 appearances for Arsenal in eight years at the club.

"I'm ready for a new challenge - Juventus is the best choice for the next stage of my career."

Szczesny will be competing with veteran goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon for the number one shirt at Juventus but said he had already spoken to the Italian.

"I'm really happy to be here. I've already spoken to Buffon, a legend in our game, and I can learn a lot from him," he added.

"I'm not feeling any pressure, I'm here to represent the club at the highest level."

More now on the news that Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny has arrive in Turin for a medical ahead of his proposed move to Juventus.

Szczesny has spent the last two seasons on loan at Roma but the Poland international now looks poised to join the Serie A champions on a permanent deal.

Szczesny is likely to provide back-up to the 39-year-old Gianluigi Buffon, who has indicated he is eager to play for Italy at the World Cup next summer.

Juventus general manager Beppe Marotta spoke to the Italian press about the Wojciech Szczesny situation, here is what he had to say on the matter:
" We are in talks as we are working hard on the Szczesny front but nothing is done yet".
The Polish international remains to be Juve's top priority for their goalkeeping position as they are still in pole position for him.

Inter Milan are another team that are said to be interested in the ex-Roma keeper but they first need to determine Handanovic's future. Another thing that might influence talks between Arsenal and Juventus is the Donnarumma situation. Juventus might have interest in him and knowing that he won't renew his deal with AC Milan, Beppe Marotta could try and make Milan an offer for him. Even so, as of now Szczesny is the likeliest option for Juve....

The Polish international appeared in 39 games overall with Roma this pas season as he was solid.
