Copenaghen's shot-stopper Olsen has jumped ahead of PSG Areola in the race to be Roma's new number 1.
The Swede, born in 1990, is now the main target, as he would cost less than Areola, allowing the Giallorossi to have more money to spend on the winger position, with Bordeaux's Malcom being monitored as possible target.

Roma is moving closer to a completed deal for Olsen, the Copenhagen goalkeeper has become the number one choice to replace Alisson, after his move to Liverpool. The contacts between the sides have been positive, and there are only a few details left to agree to before a deal can move to the final stages. The fee that Roma have recouped from Alisson's sale will be reinvested in Roma's offensive personnel, and for that role the club continue to negotiate for Malcom. As for departures, Frosinone are pushing for Castan.

Olsen is Roma's new goalkeeper after Alisson left for Liverpool: Monchi has in fact closed a deal last Sunday evening for Copenhagen's goalie who will take his medical tomorrow. The transfer fee Roma will pay for him should be less than expected: the ?8.5m offer has been accepted.

AS Roma are delighted to confirm the signing of goalkeeper Robin Olsen from Danish side FC Copenhagen.

Olsen joins for an initial fee of ?8.5 million. The deal also includes a number of performance-related clauses, on the part of both the player and the buying club, that could be worth an additional ?3.5m.

As part of the deal, Copenhagen retain the right to 10% of any profit should Olsen be sold in the future – factoring in the initial fee and any bonuses that have been paid upto that point.


The 28-year-old has signed a five-year contract that runs until 30 June 2023."
