Manchester United one step away from closing Bruno Fernandes deal

Manchester United are very active in the last stretch of transfer window in Premier League. After reaching an agreement for Maguire yesterday, the Red Devils are one step away from closing the deal for Bruno Fernandes, the negotiation with Sporting CP is in the final stages.

Bruno Fernandes is coming off a great season, he scored 31 goals to goal with 17 assists in 50 matches, this deal will also impact Sampdoria who was due 10% of his future resale when they sold him to Sporting back in 2017 for ?8.5 million.

Tottenham step up Bruno Fernandes pursuit as negotiations begin over move for Manchester United target



Tottenham Hotspur’s summer transfer plans took a twist as the club opened negotiations over a move for Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes.

Manchester United have been tracking Fernandes this summer, but Spurs officials have flown out to Lisbon to try to set up a deal.

Tottenham are still interested in Real Betis midfielder Giovani Lo Celso, who has been one of the club’s primary transfer targets, and had shelved interest in Fernandes to pursue the Argentine.

But having so far failed to agree a fee for Lo Celso, who Betis value at £68million, Spurs are now making serious enquiries over Fernandes as they look to strengthen manager Mauricio Pochettino’s squad ahead of the closure of the transfer window next Thursday.

Tottenham hope to be able to land either Fernandes or Lo Celso for around £55m, although Sporting have previously quoted a fee as high as £70m for Fernandes.

And there remains the possibility that United will spring into action and lodge their own bid for Fernandes now that Tottenham have sent their own delegation to Portugal.

Tottenham have so far only added Tanguay Ndombele to their squad this summer, having loaned Jack Clarke immediately back to Leeds United, and Pochettino’s frustration over the club’s slow progress has been evident in recent weeks.
