Allan: Everton agree £25m deal for Napoli's Brazilian midfielder

Everton have agreed a £25m deal for Napoli's Brazil midfielder Allan, and are also in talks to bring Real Madrid's James Rodriguez to Goodison Park.

Manager Carlo Ancelotti has prioritised strengthening Everton's midfield and made Allan, 29, who he worked with as Napoli coach, his top target.

Ancelotti has also coached Rodriguez previously - at Real Madrid and also when he was manager at Bayern Munich, where the Colombian forward was on loan.

Rodriguez, 29, has fallen from favour under Zinedine Zidane at the Bernabeu but Ancelotti remains a huge admirer and the player also had a close working relationship with the Italian in Spain and Germany.

It remains to be seen whether the deal is on a loan or permanent basis but it will certainly involve a payment from Everton to Real Madrid.

Everton remain in talks with Watford for midfield man Abdoulaye Doucoure but the Hornets' £30m price tag may prove prohibitive.

Ancelotti had set his sights on Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg but Everton backed away from a deal when the Dane made it clear he wanted to join Tottenham from Southampton.

He will be delighted, however, to get a deal over the line for a player he was determined to bring to Everton, and at a manageable price after Napoli originally demanded £40m.

其實我覺左右中場先係弱項, D人好雞肋, Bernard/Gordon/Walcott/Iwobi, 全部都squad player咁, 夠力當調換唔夠力上正選的定位. 難得有Anchelotti在位, 係咪應該3件B級換1件A級的做法換血?

Sigurdsson又係, 442下真係好浪費佢. 叫佢有時打左有時打右, 唔係佢個瓣....

不過你講得岩，愛華頓兩翼都好雞肋下⋯⋯至少都要換走一個，換件勁少少既先帶動到隊波。

Napoli president De Laurentiis: “We’re working to get Sokratis Papastathopoulos from Arsenal, we’re considering him as an option. Koulibaly? I’m ready to sell him if some club will submit the right bid. Allan to Everton seems to be a done deal, yes”.

EVERTON COMPLETE DEAL FOR BRAZIL MIDFIELDER ALLAN

Everton have completed the signing of Brazil international Allan, with the midfielder penning a three-year deal until the end of June 2023.

Allan, who joins Everton for an undisclosed fee following five years with Italian club Napoli, has nine senior caps for his country, having won the Copa America last year.

The 29-year-old played 61 games under Carlo Ancelotti when the Everton manager was in charge of Napoli and Allan admitted he could not turn down the opportunity to work with the Italian again and join a club “with a rich history and real ambition”.

"It is a real pleasure to sign for Everton. I am immensely happy to be here," Allan told evertontv. "I hope, like I have done in my entire career, I contribute with my performances together with my teammates and that I put in some great games, great performances and win important things.

"It is a club with a rich history in the Premier League, has real ambition and then there is Professor Ancelotti.

"He has done everything possible to bring me here.

"It is the size of the Club and the name of the coach which means you don’t think twice about coming to Everton."

Everton have signed Brazilian midfielder Allan from Napoli on a three-year contract for a fee believed to be around £21.7m.

Allan is Everton's first signing of the summer and the move reunites him with former Napoli boss Carlo Ancelotti.

"It is a real pleasure to sign for Everton. I am immensely happy to be here," said the 29-year-old.

Everton are also closing on deals for Watford's Abdoulaye Doucoure and James Rodriguez from Real Madrid.

Allan played 61 games under Ancelotti at Napoli, and he says the Italian did "everything possible" to bring him to Goodison Park.

Allan made more than 200 appearances for Napoli after joining from Udinese, and played alongside Toffees forward Richarlison as hosts Brazil won the 2019 Copa America.

"I believe with my desire I can put in really good performances to win the fans over. I received a lot of messages from Everton fans and that made me really happy and confident in the work I can do here."
