OFFICIAL: Valencia Sign Sofiane Feghouli From Grenoble Foot38
Los Che have snapped up a creative young midfielder once touted as an heir to Zinedine Zidane...
After months of speculation, Valencia have finally confirmed the signing of Sofiane Feghouli from Grenoble Foot38 via their official website.
A creative midfielder, Feghouli has previously been touted as ‘the next Zinedine Zidane’, but in recent times the 20-year-old has found the going rather difficult.
Breaking into the GF38 team as a prodigious teenager, Feghouli was one of the stars as Grenoble leaped back into Ligue 1 in 2008 after a lengthy absence. In the top flight, the player of Algerian descent has only shown occasional glimpses of what he is capable of, and his progress over the course of the last season was seriously stunted by a knee problem, which reduced him to less than 350 minutes of football over the course of the campaign.
Nevertheless, los Che have been sufficiently impressed to swoop for the Paris-born midfielder on a free transfer, as his contract at the Stade des Alpes is due to expire at the end of June.
Feghouli has penned a four year deal with the Mestalla outfit and is their third signing of the summer following the additions of Mehmet Topal and Ricardo Costa, who also spent a spell last season playing in Ligue 1.
