JERMAINE Beckford has terminated his contract at Leeds to pave the way for his free transfer to Everton.
The striker’s deal at Elland Road ran until the end of June.
But Leeds chairman Ken Bates has allowed him to leave the new Championship side early so he can tie up the loose ends of his move to Goodison.
Beckford scored the winning goal to fire Simon Grayson’s men to promotion.
But he refused to sign a new and improved deal at the fallen giants in favour of linking up with David Moyes’s men.
He will undergo a medical in the next 48 hours before signing a four-year deal worth around £20,000 a week.
Beckford, 26, scored 85 goals in three full seasons with Leeds and claimed 31 this term, including the decisive effort in a 2-1 win over Bristol Rovers which sealed Leeds’ promotion.
