OFFICIAL: Milan Sign Marco Amelia On Loan From Genoa
Rome-born goalkeeper arrives on loan with a co-ownership option from the Ligurian outfit as a replacement for Marco Storari who joined Juventus permanently...
Marco Amelia has completed his loan move to Milan, said the club in a statement on Wednesday.
The statement reads:
"A.C Milan communicates to have aquired, on a loan basis with the right to a co-ownership deal, Marco Amelia from Genoa after having sold Marco Storari to FC Juventus on a permanent deal."The 28-year-old goalkeeper will play for Milan on loan until the end of the 2010/11 season when the club will decide whether to use their option to buy half of his rights from the Grifoni.
And the club expects Amelia to get down to work and stand firm in between the sticks.
An extract from a player profile on the club's official website reads:
"The most important thing is that Marco Amelia has the will to do great things on the pitch, during official matches once the referee blows his whistle."
Fans will remember Amelia saved two out of three penalties against Ronaldinho as a Genoa player when both clubs met in previous campaigns.
