Former Hull star Geovanni joins San Josehttp://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=815007&sec=global&cc=4716Former Hull and Manchester City midfielder Geovanni will resume his career in the United States after agreeing to join the San Jose Earthquakes.
The Major League Soccer club confirmed Geovanni's signing on their website, although they did not disclose details of the deal. The Brazilian will become the club's first designated player, meaning his wages can sit outside the MLS salary cap.
Geovanni, 30, was released by Hull following their relegation from the Premier League last season, when he was the Tigers' leading scorer with eight goals, and had been without a club.
The Earthquakes expect his first game to be away to the New York Red Bulls on August 28.
