Coach Tom Thibodeau said Tuesday that he expects Rose (sprained right wrist, bruised elbow) to play Wednesday at Toronto, the Chicago Tribune reports.

Recommendation: Rose was wearing a brace on his injured wrist Tuesday but agreed with Thibodeau's assessment. "If it's up to me, I'm playing," Rose said. "I'm sore, but I should be able to play through it." Rose should be safe to deploy in daily leagues Wednesday, but we'll keep an eye out for some confirmation before Wednesday's tipoff.

Bulls' Noah to have surgery on right thumb

TORONTO (AP) -- Chicago Bulls center Joakim Noah was scheduled to have surgery Thursday to repair a torn ligament in his right thumb and is expected to take at least eight weeks to recover.

Noah was injured Nov. 27 at Sacramento, but appeared in all nine of Chicago's games since. He had 11 points and 11 rebounds Wednesday night in a 110-93 win in Toronto, the Bulls' seventh straight victory.

Besides the torn ligament in his thumb, Noah also has sprained ligaments in the middle finger and index finger on his right hand. Those injuries do not require surgery.
