Juventus confirm Vidal surgery The midfielder will go under the knife on Wednesday in a bid to rid himself of a long-standing knee issue and he is expected to recover in time for the World Cup Juventus have confirmed that Arturo Vidal will undergo knee surgery on Wednesday, ending his Serie A season. The midfielder, who has been a key part of Antonio Conte's Scudetto winning side once again this year,
was known to be considering taking action on the long-standing fitness issue once the Bianconeri had the league title secured.
Having been crowned Italian champions on Sunday when Roma lost to Catania and followed up with a 1-0 home win
against Atalanta on Monday to edge them closer to 100 points, Juve have confirmed that the 26-year-old will go under the knife this week.
"In the late afternoon on Tuesday Arturo Vidal had - in the presence of Juve and Chile national team doctors -
an orthopaedic consultation in Barcelona," a statement on the club's website read.
"Tomorrow morning he will undergo keyhole surgery to the lateral meniscus in his right knee." Vidal is expected to be involved in the World Cup for Chile - who have been drawn with Spain, Netherlands and Australia in the group stage -
although
he may not be 100 per cent fit for the opening match. He will definitely miss Juve's last two matches of the season - at Roma on Sunday then at home to Cagliari for the final match of 2013-14.
