Valencia have accepted AC Milan’s ?4.25 million offer for French centre-back, Adil Rami,
with the 28-year-old paying ?.5 million from his own pocket to finalise the transfer.



Sky Sports Italia originally reported that the deal to retain the Frenchman’s services had been agreed upon and AC Milan sporting director,
Adriano Galliani later confirmed the admitted the deal was close but not finalised due to the Valencia president being “busy”.

“We improved our offer to Valencia. The difference was covered by Rami to close the deal. He deserves a lot of credit for that.

“The deal for Rami hasn’t been signed yet as Valencia’s president is busy, but the deal is very close to being finalized.”

Galliani, however confirmed via AC Milan News, that Rami would be in training on Friday.

“Rami will be at Milanello with the rest of the squad tomorrow.”

The move to Milan ends Rami’s chaotic spell at Valencia,

which saw erise to the top of La Liga and due to differences with former manager Miroslav Djukic and sporting directors,

publically lambasted the dressing room atmosphere and his teammates forcing Los Che to suspend him last October

until he was able to join Milan in January on a six-month loan with an option to buy.

Serie A: Adil Rami is close to a permanent switch to AC Milan



Adil Rami is on the verge of completing his permanent move to AC Milan, Rossoneri vice-president Adriano Galliani announced.

The French defender spent the second half of last season on loan with the Rossoneri after falling out of favour at Spanish side Valencia.

Milan had an option to make the deal permanent this summer but were unwilling to pay the asking price set by Los Che for the 28-year-old.

After weeks of negotiation, both clubs have reached an agreement that will see Rami move to Milan for a reported fee of 4.25million euros (£3.375million).

"The player will be at (Milan's headquarters) Milanello with the rest of the squad on Friday," Galliani told Gazzetta dello Sport.

"We don't have the signature yet, as the president is busy, but the agreement is very close to completion.

"We improved our offer to Valencia, as the difference was paid by the player to ensure the transfer.

"He deserves a lot of credit for that."

Rami scored three goals in 18 league appearances for Milan last season.

Valencia now want the ?4.2M for Rami immediately. Yesterday, them & Milan had agreed that the amount was going to be paid in 3 installments.

This is a complication in the Adil Rami deal. Valencia have not given their final "ok" yet.  (via @DiMarzio)

AC Milan have completed the signing of Valencia defender Adil Rami for a reported fee of 4.25million euros.
